Project Introduction

A mining company in Guangxi has purchased an MD85-67X5 self-balancing multistage pump for mining applications.

Recently, a mining company in Guangxi completed the procurement and upgrade of its underground drainage equipment and officially selected MD85-67X5 self-balancing multistage pump for mining applications , replacing the existing aging pumps and comprehensively optimizing the underground drainage system of the mine, thereby establishing a robust core safeguard for safe mining operations.
The mining areas in Guangxi are characterized by complex geological conditions, with substantial underground water inflows that are turbid and laden with large amounts of sediment and debris. The conventional multistage pumps previously employed by the company exhibited significant shortcomings: the primary issue was an imbalance in axial forces, leading to rapid wear of vulnerable components such as balance discs and bearings, and frequent equipment breakdowns resulting in unplanned shutdowns. This not only drove up maintenance costs and placed considerable strain on manpower but also posed serious safety risks due to delayed drainage, rendering the existing systems unable to meet the mine’s demand for 24‑hour continuous dewatering.
To thoroughly address the equipment’s pain points, the company conducted a comprehensive comparison of pump specifications and real-world performance feedback, ultimately selecting the MD85-67X5 self‑balancing multi‑stage mining pump. This pump is well‑suited to the demanding conditions of deep mine shafts, delivering a rated flow of 85 m³/h and a total head of up to 335 meters. Paired with a 132 kW motor, it provides ample pumping power and stable head, perfectly meeting the high elevation differences and drainage demands of underground mine operations.

The standout advantage of this equipment is its upgraded self‑balancing design, which eliminates the conventional balance disc—prone to failure—and automatically counteracts axial thrust, thereby reducing the likelihood of malfunctions at the source. Meanwhile, flow‑path components such as the impeller and guide vanes are crafted from wear‑resistant materials, offering excellent resistance to erosion and abrasion, enabling the unit to handle complex mine water containing silt and sediment with ease and adapt to harsh mining conditions. The equipment operates with minimal vibration and low noise, exhibiting exceptional overall stability, making it ideally suited for continuous, round‑the‑clock operation underground.
During the project alignment phase, we meticulously verify parameters based on the customer’s on-site operating conditions, finalize the tailored solution, and swiftly complete production, quality inspection, and full‑machine shipment. Following delivery, our technical team provides end-to-end support, offering remote guidance for equipment installation, pipeline connection, and commissioning, while simultaneously delivering a comprehensive set of operation and maintenance documentation.
Since the equipment was commissioned, drainage efficiency has consistently met standards, operational performance has remained stable, and the rate of fault‑related service requests has dropped significantly. This has substantially reduced downtime for maintenance and spare‑part consumption, thereby enhancing the safety and reliability of the mine’s drainage system and supporting the enterprise in lowering costs, improving efficiency, and ensuring safe production.
