Project Introduction

Case Study: Procurement of Horizontal Multistage Diesel-Powered Pump Units by a Vietnamese Mining Equipment Company
Recently, a Vietnamese mining equipment company placed an order for a batch of horizontal multistage diesel‑driven pump units, primarily intended for routine dewatering, emergency flood control, and long‑distance water conveyance at local open‑pit mines. These pumps have effectively addressed the challenges of unstable power supply and the high failure rate of conventional pumping systems, thereby providing reliable support for safe mine operations.
This client has long served major local mining projects in Vietnam and is well aware of the operational challenges faced at mining sites. Most mines are located in remote areas, where the power grid is unreliable and frequent outages occur, causing conventional electric pumps to shut down and fail. Moreover, draining water from deep pits and conveying it uphill demand high head capacities, while mine water often contains trace impurities that can easily clog standard pumps and accelerate wear, leading to frequent maintenance and significant delays in mining schedules.

After extensive comparison and selection, the customer ultimately opted for a horizontal multistage diesel‑driven pump unit. Powered by an independent diesel engine, the equipment eliminates reliance on an external grid, fully addressing the issue of shutdowns due to power outages. Its multistage design delivers high head and stable water pressure, easily meeting the long‑distance, high‑lift water‑transfer requirements of complex mine terrains. To withstand harsh mining conditions, the wet‑end components have been optimized for wear resistance and corrosion protection, ensuring excellent passage of solids and minimizing clogging failures, thereby significantly reducing operation and maintenance costs. Moreover, the unit features a high degree of integration and convenient installation, enabling rapid deployment and adapting seamlessly to the flexible construction environments typical of mining sites.
Following the equipment’s commissioning and trial operation, it has demonstrated stable performance and efficient drainage, fully meeting both routine drainage needs and emergency flood‑control requirements during heavy rainfall, thereby addressing key operational shortcomings in the mining area. Thanks to its outstanding performance, the equipment has earned high praise from the customer, and the two parties have agreed to a long‑term, bulk‑supply cooperation arrangement.
