Project Introduction

A customer from the Democratic Republic of the Congo purchased our XDF850-120x2 corrosion-resistant chemical pump.

A chemical user in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has been equipped with... XDF850-120x2 Corrosion-Resistant Chemical Pump It’s used to convey acidic feed liquids containing chlorine, which are highly corrosive. Previously, they’d been using locally sourced standard chemical pumps, but the wetted parts would corrode through and develop holes within at most three months, causing the feed liquid to leak all over the floor. Even more troublesome was that their process required a flow rate of 840 m³/h and a head of 210 m. The old pumps either lacked sufficient head to handle the task or couldn’t keep up with the required flow rate, slowing down production. Just replacing the pumps alone cost them a substantial amount each year.

They found us through a referral from a peer. First, our technicians remotely verified the composition of the liquid material as well as the temperature and pressure parameters, and then directly recommended the XDF850-120x2 model—whose two key advantages perfectly addressed their pain points: First, it boasts exceptional corrosion resistance; its wetted parts are made of duplex stainless steel, specifically designed to withstand acidic corrosion and lasting more than three times longer than ordinary stainless steel. Second, its parameters are precisely matched: with a rated flow rate of 840 m³/h and a head of 210 m, it ensures neither compromise nor waste.

Considering that the local installation technicians are not very familiar with the equipment, we also sent engineers over to provide on-site commissioning services and, at the same time, train them in maintenance techniques—for example, checking weekly whether there are any leaks in the seals, lubricating the bearings once a month with specialized grease, and flushing the flow paths with clean water after the material flow has been stopped to prevent residual corrosion.

During a recent follow-up visit, Master Kama, who’s in charge of equipment maintenance, praised over the phone: “This pump is such a hassle-free machine! It’s been in use for nearly a year now, and there’s not a single sign of corrosion on any of the flow-through components. The flow rate and head remain remarkably stable. Previously, we had to shut down the pump for two days every month for maintenance; now, we only need to inspect it once every two months.” It turns out that before, their monthly pump repairs and downtime losses added up to nearly 100,000 yuan. Now, just by cutting down on those costs alone, they’ve saved a significant amount. Recently, they even mentioned that they’re planning to order two more units of the same model to equip their new production line.
