Product Overview

The DFP-type self-balancing multistage corrosion-resistant centrifugal pump adopts a rotor assembly configuration featuring symmetric impellers at each stage. It eliminates the balance disc mechanism traditionally used in conventional corrosion-resistant multistage centrifugal pumps. As a result, the axial forces generated during operation are mutually canceled and essentially achieve self-balancing. This ensures that the alignment between the impellers and diffusers remains consistently balanced, thereby significantly improving the pump’s overall operational efficiency. This pump represents an innovative structural design of corrosion-resistant multistage centrifugal pumps and belongs to the category of... Self-balancing multistage pump One of the models in this series is a replacement product for multistage pumps that use balance discs or balance drums. Self-balancing technology will also become the future trend in the field of multistage centrifugal pump products.

The DFP self-balancing multistage corrosion-resistant centrifugal pump is made of stainless steel, offering excellent corrosion resistance, practical safety, cost-effectiveness, reliable operation without failures, and low maintenance costs.

I. Application Scope of DFP Multistage Corrosion-Resistant Centrifugal Pumps

The DFP multistage corrosion-resistant centrifugal pump is designed for conveying corrosive liquids that are free of solid particles and have temperatures ranging from -20°C to 105°C. Users can reasonably select the pump material, sealing type, pump structure, and determine the motor power based on factors such as the name of the conveyed medium, its concentration, specific gravity, operating temperature, and inlet pressure of the pump.

II. Significance of Model Designations for DFP Multi-stage Corrosion-resistant Centrifugal Pumps

Example: DF(P)85-80x10

DF(P)—denotes a horizontal multistage corrosion-resistant centrifugal pump.

85—represents the pump’s design-point flow rate.

80—represents the head at the single-stage design point of the pump.

10——indicates the number of stages of the pump

III. Main Advantages of the DFP Multi-stage Corrosion-resistant Centrifugal Pump

The DFP-type multistage corrosion-resistant centrifugal pump features a symmetrical arrangement and eliminates the need for a balancing device, thereby virtually eliminating axial forces. Any residual axial force is borne by a pair of back-to-back angular contact ball bearings. Since there is no balancing device—no disc friction losses from balance discs and no balancing reflux losses—the pump efficiency is improved by 3% to 14% compared to similar multistage pumps. Moreover, the absence of a balancing device completely resolves various failures caused by the failure of the balancing device, such as wear on the balance disc and its seat or rotor seizure, thus greatly extending the pump’s service life. The pump boasts a uniquely robust structural design that allows each stage to achieve a head of up to 1.5 MPa (150 m), with an outlet pressure reaching as high as 18 MPa (total head of 1800 m). Additionally, the bearing and rotor assembly, serving as the core component, is unaffected by temperature fluctuations and exhibits excellent resistance to thermal shock.

IV. DFP Multi-stage Corrosion-resistant Centrifugal Pump vs. Traditional Corrosion-resistant Multi-stage Pump

As shown in the comparison above, the main advantages of the self-balancing multistage system over the traditional multistage system are:

1. Highly efficient and energy-saving, with significant power-saving effects.

Due to the reduced shaft power, the pump's power consumption per unit time decreases, resulting in a significant reduction in operating costs.

2. Advanced structure with a long maintenance-free period.

Due to the absence of balancing devices, the hydraulic system has fewer vulnerable parts, boasts long trouble-free operating periods, and significantly reduces maintenance and repair costs.

V. Main Structural Features of the DFP Multi-stage Corrosion-resistant Centrifugal Pump

DFP Multistage Corrosion-Resistant Centrifugal Pump Self-balancing multistage pump This is a horizontal sectional multistage centrifugal pump with either single-suction or double-suction inlet. The pump’s suction port can be arranged vertically upward or horizontally, while the discharge port is positioned vertically upward. The main components include: the suction section, the middle section, the discharge section, the secondary suction section, forward guide vanes, reverse guide vanes, forward impellers, reverse impellers, shaft, throttling and pressure-reducing devices, sleeve bearings, bearing housings, transition pipes, and other parts. The middle section is connected to the suction and discharge sections via high-strength through-bolts. The sealing surfaces between the suction section, middle section, and discharge section all employ a hard metal seal lubricated with molybdenum disulfide grease. The rotor consists of components mounted on the shaft, including forward impellers, throttling and pressure-reducing devices, reverse impellers, shaft sleeves, and bearing sleeves. The bearings adopt a “fixed-floating” dry-lubrication design: the drive end uses cylindrical roller bearings, while the tail end employs angular contact ball bearings. The pump’s working chamber comprises the suction section, middle section, discharge section, secondary suction section, forward guide vanes, reverse guide vanes, and transition pipes.

Sealing rings, guide vane sleeves, and other components are installed between the rotor and the stationary parts to ensure proper sealing. When the wear on the sealing rings and guide vane sleeves has begun to affect the pump’s operational performance, they should be replaced promptly.

7. Component Drawing of DFP Multistage Corrosion-Resistant Centrifugal Pump

There are two types of shaft seals: mechanical seals and packing seals. When a pump uses a packing seal, the packing rings must be properly positioned, and the tightness of the packing should be just right—ideally allowing liquid to seep out drop by drop. All sealing components of the pump are housed within a sealing chamber, which is supplied with water at a certain pressure to serve as a water seal, provide water cooling, and offer water lubrication. A replaceable shaft sleeve is installed at the shaft seal to protect the pump shaft.

The pump’s bearings and seals can be replaced without dismantling the inlet and outlet pipelines.

This series of corrosion-resistant multistage centrifugal pumps is directly driven by the prime mover via an elastic pin coupling or a diaphragm coupling. When viewed from the direction of the prime mover, the pump rotates clockwise.

VIII. Unique Performance of the DFP Multi-stage Corrosion-resistant Centrifugal Pump

1. Advanced modular design with a combination of components, extensively utilizing locally tested components that have undergone long-term operational verification; parts and components exhibit a high degree of interchangeability.

2. The pump features high-strength, high-quality materials as well as a variety of options for inlet and outlet flanges and connection pipe designs, significantly increasing the pump’s allowable connection load. The pump’s high-strength, high-quality casing material boasts a tightly structured design with a service life five times longer than that of conventional castings. The impeller and guide vanes—parts that come into direct contact with the fluid—are manufactured using precision casting, resulting in a smooth, even surface that improves efficiency by more than 2% compared to conventional castings. The pump can readily meet users’ specific system requirements under special conditions.

3. The quick assembly and disassembly design allows the pump to replace seals and bearing components without removing the pump body or the inlet and outlet pipelines, thereby minimizing downtime for major overhauls and inspections.

4. A combination of high efficiency, high reliability, and low cost. Through the optimal matching of impellers and guide vanes, as well as appropriately designed clearances and a wide axial throttling design, the ZPD-type high-pressure multistage centrifugal pump can maintain its high stability and extremely high operational efficiency even after prolonged operation.

5. The rotor assembly features symmetrically arranged impellers, with the impellers divided into high-pressure and low-pressure zones at both ends of the rotor. The axial forces generated by these zones mutually cancel each other out, achieving axial force balance. Any transient axial forces arising from changes in pump operating conditions, as well as residual axial forces caused by manufacturing tolerances and helical seals, are borne by the thrust-bearing mechanism within the bearing assembly. This type of pump eliminates conventional axial-force balancing components such as balance discs or balance drums, thereby completely preventing accidents—such as rotor seizure, component damage, shaft breakage, or even motor burnout—that might otherwise occur when the balance disc or balance drum fails due to transient changes in pump operating conditions.

6. Safe pump body sealing design: Depending on the specific pressure and structural requirements, the pump body features either a metal-to-metal hard seal or an O-ring seal. Upon customer request, intermediate taps and a minimum-flow system can be added. The pump allows for easy replacement of bearings and seals without having to disconnect the inlet and outlet pipelines.

7. Excellent cavitation performance. By adopting an excellent impeller hydraulic model or a special double-suction impeller design, users do not need to additionally install a booster pump or raise the height of the suction tank.

Q

What is your typical delivery time?

A

Models in stock can be shipped the next day at the latest. All others are custom-made, with lead times generally ranging from 7 to 90 days depending on the product size and project specifics. Please contact our sales manager for details: 0731-88632200 。

Q

Do you have centrifugal pumps in stock?

A

Centrifugal pumps come in numerous models and configurations. Except for a small number of high-volume, standard models that are in stock, the vast majority are not stocked and are customized products. We need to select a pump based on your site's flow rate, head, media temperature, pH value, and installation conditions, etc., to determine the pump model and configuration before we can submit an order to the factory for production.

Q

What information should I provide when requesting a quote?

A

Generally, to obtain an accurate quotation, we recommend providing us with the following information: pump flow rate, head, on-site operating voltage and frequency, temperature, pH value, and solid particle content of the fluid being conveyed, and on-site installation conditions (horizontal or vertical installation), etc.

If you are not sure, don't worry, our business managers will assist you in determining this.

Q

What products do you mainly produce?

A

Zhonglian Pump Industry manufactures various large industrial centrifugal pumps. Main products include: self-balancing multi-stage pumps, multi-stage centrifugal pumps, single-stage centrifugal pumps, split-case pumps, chemical pumps, submersible pumps, pipeline pumps, long-shaft pumps, condensate pumps, etc.

Q

Could you help me with the selection?

A

Certainly! If the water pump model is not selected accurately, there will be big problems. If you choose a smaller one, it won't meet your needs; if you choose a larger one, it will waste electricity and fuel, increasing your costs.

Q

Why is it so slow to get a price quote?

A

Because centrifugal pumps are non-standard customized products with many models, the price range is also very large. Even for the same model, the price difference is also very large due to different materials and configurations. Taking the most common water pump accessory—the impeller—as an example, the price of a stainless steel impeller is several times that of a cast iron impeller. Therefore, we need to clarify the relevant information to give you an accurate price. Normally, if you provide relatively comprehensive information, we can quote within 5 minutes.
