　　The GDL-type stainless steel vertical multistage pump is a vertical pump. 　　The GDL vertical multistage centrifugal pump features an inlet and outlet located on the same straight line. The rotor assembly consists of components such as the shaft, impeller, impeller retaining sleeve, and shaft sleeve. The suction section, middle section, and discharge section are connected by tension bolts. The shaft seal employs a mechanical seal that is lubricated and cooled by pressurized water from the balance chamber. This pump is an ideal choice for conveying cold and hot water or liquids with physicochemical properties similar to water in various industries.

　　1. The GDL vertical multistage pump features a vertical design and occupies a small footprint. Its center of gravity coincides with the center of the pump feet, ensuring stable operation, minimal vibration, and a long service life.

　　2. The GDL vertical multistage pump has the same port diameter and is aligned on the same horizontal centerline, so there’s no need to modify the piping structure. It can be directly installed at any point along the pipeline, making installation extremely convenient.

　　3. The motor, equipped with a rainproof cover, can be directly placed outdoors without the need to construct a pump room, significantly reducing infrastructure investment.

　　4. The head of the GDL vertical multistage centrifugal pump can be adjusted by changing the number of pump stages (impeller count) to meet different requirements, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.

Installation Instructions for GDL/GDLF Stainless Steel Vertical Multistage Pumps

　　1. During installation, the weight of the piping should not be borne by the pump; otherwise, the pump is prone to damage.

　　2. The pump and motor have an integrated structure and are pre-calibrated by the manufacturer before leaving the factory, so no adjustments are required during installation, making the installation process extremely convenient.

　　3. Before installing the pump, carefully check inside the pump passage for any hard objects (such as stones, iron sand, etc.) that could interfere with the pump’s operation, so as to prevent damage to the flow components during pump operation.

　　4. During installation, the anchor bolts must be tightened securely, and the pump should be inspected at regular intervals to prevent loosening. This is to avoid severe vibrations when the pump starts up, which could adversely affect its performance.

　　5. For ease of maintenance and operational safety, install a regulating valve on the pump’s inlet and outlet pipelines and a pressure gauge near the pump’s inlet and outlet. For pumps with high head, to prevent water hammer, also install a check valve upstream of the outlet gate valve to cope with sudden power failures or other loss-of-power incidents. This ensures that the pump operates under efficient conditions and extends its service life.

　　6. When the pump is used in applications involving suction lift, it should be equipped with a foot valve. Additionally, the inlet piping should not have excessive bends, and there must be no leaks of water or air to avoid compromising the pump’s suction performance.

　　7. To prevent impurities from entering the pump and clogging the flow passages, thereby affecting performance, a filter should be installed upstream of the pump inlet.

　　8. Before installing the piping, rotate the pump’s rotor assembly to ensure there is no rubbing noise or jamming. If such issues are detected, disassemble the pump and investigate the cause.

　　Running maintenance and upkeep

　　1. The water inlet pipeline must be highly sealed and free of leaks—no water or air should escape.

　　2. The GDL-type multistage pump is prohibited from operating for extended periods under cavitation conditions.

　　3. It is prohibited for GDL-type multistage pumps to operate under high-flow conditions with the motor continuously running at overcurrent levels.

　　4. Regularly check the motor current value during pump operation and strive to keep the pump running within its designed operating range.

　　5. The GDL vertical multistage centrifugal pump should be monitored by a dedicated person during operation to prevent accidents.

　　6. The GDL vertical multistage centrifugal pump should have its bearings lubricated every 500 hours of operation.

　　7. After prolonged operation, the GDL multistage pump may experience increased noise and vibration due to mechanical wear. The pump should be stopped for inspection, and if necessary, worn parts and bearings should be replaced. The typical overhaul interval for the unit is one year.

　　Maintenance and Servicing of Mechanical Seals

　　1. The lubricating fluid for mechanical seals shall be clean and free of solid particles.

　　2. It is strictly prohibited to operate the mechanical seal under dry grinding conditions.

　　3. Before starting, rotate the multistage pipeline pump (motor) several times to prevent sudden start-up from causing the mechanical seal to break or get damaged.

Instructions for Use of GDL/GDLF Stainless Steel Vertical Multistage Pumps

　　Pre-start preparations

　　1. Manually rotate the coupling; the impeller should move freely without any jamming or rubbing.

　　2. Open the inlet valve and then open the vent valve to allow liquid to fill the entire pump chamber; afterward, close the vent nozzle.

　　3. When conveying hot liquids, preheat the pump before starting. The heating rate should be 50℃/h. The pump is preheated by continuously circulating the liquid being conveyed, ensuring uniform heating of all components.

　　4. First, manually turn the pump several revolutions to allow lubricating water to enter the mechanical seal faces.

　　5. Jog the motor to confirm that the rotation direction is correct.

　　Startup and Operation

　　1. Fully open the inlet valve and close the discharge pipeline valve.

　　2. Connect the power supply. Once the pump reaches its normal speed, gradually open the valve on the discharge pipeline and adjust it to the desired operating conditions.

　　3. Pay close attention to instrument readings and check for leakage at the shaft seal. Under normal conditions, mechanical seal leakage should be no more than 3 drops per minute. Also, ensure that the temperatures at the motor and bearing locations are ≤75℃. If any abnormalities are detected, take immediate corrective action.

　　Parking

　　1. Gradually close the discharge pipeline valve and disconnect the power supply.

　　2. Close the inlet valve;

　　3. If the ambient temperature falls below 0℃, the liquid inside the pump should be drained completely to prevent the pump from freezing and cracking.

　　4. If the pump is to be left idle for an extended period, it should be disassembled, cleaned, and properly packaged for storage.
