Product Overview

The FSB-type fluoroplastic chemical pump is a type of horizontal chemical pump.
The pump body features a metal casing lined with perfluoroalkoxy copolymer (F46). The pump cover, impeller, and shaft sleeve are all manufactured by integral sintering and molding, with metal inserts encased in fluoroplastic. The shaft seal employs an externally mounted bellows mechanical seal; the stationary ring is made of 99% alumina ceramic or silicon nitride, while the rotating ring is composed of PTFE-filled material. This seal offers exceptional corrosion and wear resistance, making it suitable for conveying highly corrosive media under harsh conditions—including sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, acetic acid, hydrofluoric acid, nitric acid, aqua regia, strong alkalis, strong oxidizers, organic solvents, and reducing agents—of any concentration. It is currently one of the most highly corrosion-resistant pieces of equipment available in the industry.

The flow components of the FSB and FSB-D fluoroplastic alloy centrifugal pumps are all made from fluoroplastic alloys. These pumps feature a compact structure, simple operation, and low cost. The pump housings, impellers, mechanical seals, and other parts of both models are fully interchangeable, making them highly popular among users.

  Structural Description:

  1. Pump Body: Each of the connecting parts on the left and right sides is equipped with a molded plastic alloy flange ring made of steel, embedded inside.

  2. On the right side of the back cover, embedded inside is a stainless steel plate (1Cr18Ni9Ti) molded from a plastic alloy.

  3. Impeller: The impeller employs a shaft-connection method. The metal shaft is precision-machined from high-quality steel and then encased in a molded plastic alloy, firmly integrating the impeller with the metal shaft. This ensures that the shaft root and the rear portion of the impeller can effectively withstand the torque generated during rotation. As a result, the parts of the impeller that come into contact with the medium are made of plastic alloy.

  4. Mechanical Seal: This seal employs WB2 and ST types, featuring an adjustable face-sealing technology that does not require cooling water. It is made from materials including silicon carbide, high-purity alumina ceramic, filled PTFE, and graphite.

The flow components of the FSB and FSB-D horizontal chemical centrifugal pumps are all made from fluoroplastic alloys. These pumps feature a compact design, simple operation, and low cost. The pump housings, impellers, mechanical seals, and other parts of both models are fully interchangeable, making them highly popular among users.

The FSB and FSB-D horizontal chemical centrifugal pumps are equipped with a relatively advanced externally mounted mechanical seal featuring a PTFE corrugated bellows. This seal boasts several key features: it can compensate for radial runout of the pump shaft; it is an externally mounted, single-face seal that is easy to install and remove, provides an intuitive view of its operational status, and offers excellent corrosion and wear resistance. Additionally, it incorporates multi-layer protection, significantly extending the service life of the mechanical seal. When conveying corrosive media containing solid particles, these pumps can be fitted with a single-face, hard-to-hard (silicon carbide against silicon carbide) mechanical seal without cooling water. For particularly corrosive media such as strong alkalis and hydrofluoric acid, a non-pressurized sintered silicon carbide seal is recommended. When selecting the appropriate model, users should take into account both the solid content in the medium and the medium’s specific corrosive properties.

Operating Instructions for Horizontal Chemical Pumps

  Starting and Stopping

  1. Fill the pump with sufficient liquid (prime the pump).

  2. Check whether the oil level in the bracket’s oil chamber is within the specified range.

  3. Check the rotation direction of the motor and verify the pump’s positioning markings.

  4. Close the outlet valve and the pressure gauge cock.

  5. Start the motor, open the pressure gauge cock, and slowly open the outlet valve. When the pressure gauge pointer reaches the desired position, stop adjusting the size of the outlet valve.

  6. When you need to stop, first close the water outlet valve and then disconnect the power supply.

Horizontal Chemical Pump Disassembly, Assembly, and Installation

  Disassembly

  1. The pump and motor are connected using a claw-type coupling. To disassemble, first loosen the four connecting bolts between the bracket and the base to separate the pump from the motor.

  2. Loosen the connecting bolts on the pump body’s rear cover, then gently tap the pump body with a wooden handle to detach it.

  3. Loosen the tightening bolts that secure the impeller shaft to the pump shaft’s Morse taper connection within the coupling.

  4. Loosen the mechanical seal without moving it, and secure the fixing screws. Gently tap the center of the coupling with a wooden mallet to tighten the bolt. After the Morse taper connection between the impeller shaft and the pump shaft is loosened, pull out the impeller, the rear cover, and the rotating ring of the seal assembly. Then, loosen the press-cover screws on the rear cover and remove the stationary ring.

  5. Loosen the left and right gland screws on the pump shaft, remove the pump shaft and bearings, and clean the oil chamber of the bracket.

  Assembly

Reassemble the seal, including the moving ring, stationary ring, rear cover, press cover, impeller, pump body, and other components, tightening the set screws in the reverse order of disassembly.

Precautions for Using Horizontal Chemical Pumps

  Installation and Precautions

  1. Before installation, the pump and motor should be inspected to ensure that all components are intact and free of debris inside the pump.

  2. Place the pump in a horizontal position, connect the inlet and outlet pipes, and plug it into the power supply. Finally, manually turn the coupling to check for any rubbing or friction. If the rotation is smooth and uniform, the installation is complete.

  3. Plastic alloy centrifugal pumps have lower rigidity than metal pumps; therefore, the weight of the piping should not be directly supported by the pump body. Separate supports must be provided to bear the weight of the inlet and outlet pipelines. For pumps with high head, a check valve should also be installed at the outlet to prevent water hammer damage caused by sudden shutdowns.

  4. All joints must be kept sealed to prevent air or liquid leakage from affecting the pump’s operational performance.

  5. During operation, if you notice any jerking or unusual noises, you should immediately stop the machine, inspect the cause, and resume work only after the issue has been properly resolved.

  Starting and Stopping

  1. Fill the pump with sufficient liquid (prime the pump).

  2. Check whether the oil level in the bracket’s oil chamber is within the specified range.

  3. Check the rotation direction of the motor and verify the pump’s rotation mark.

  4. Close the outlet valve and the pressure gauge cock.

  5. Start the motor, open the pressure gauge cock, and slowly open the outlet valve.

  6. When parking the equipment, first close the water outlet valve and then disconnect the power supply.

  7. When the pointer on the gauge reaches the desired position, stop adjusting the size of the water outlet valve.

Q

What is your typical delivery time?

A

Models in stock can be shipped the next day at the latest. All others are custom-made, with lead times generally ranging from 7 to 90 days depending on the product size and project specifics. Please contact our sales manager for details: 0731-88632200 。

Q

Do you have centrifugal pumps in stock?

A

Centrifugal pumps come in numerous models and configurations. Except for a small number of high-volume, standard models that are in stock, the vast majority are not stocked and are customized products. We need to select a pump based on your site's flow rate, head, media temperature, pH value, and installation conditions, etc., to determine the pump model and configuration before we can submit an order to the factory for production.

Q

What information should I provide when requesting a quote?

A

Generally, to obtain an accurate quotation, we recommend providing us with the following information: pump flow rate, head, on-site operating voltage and frequency, temperature, pH value, and solid particle content of the fluid being conveyed, and on-site installation conditions (horizontal or vertical installation), etc.

If you are not sure, don't worry, our business managers will assist you in determining this.

Q

What products do you mainly produce?

A

Zhonglian Pump Industry manufactures various large industrial centrifugal pumps. Main products include: self-balancing multi-stage pumps, multi-stage centrifugal pumps, single-stage centrifugal pumps, split-case pumps, chemical pumps, submersible pumps, pipeline pumps, long-shaft pumps, condensate pumps, etc.

Q

Could you help me with the selection?

A

Certainly! If the water pump model is not selected accurately, there will be big problems. If you choose a smaller one, it won't meet your needs; if you choose a larger one, it will waste electricity and fuel, increasing your costs.

Q

Why is it so slow to get a price quote?

A

Because centrifugal pumps are non-standard customized products with many models, the price range is also very large. Even for the same model, the price difference is also very large due to different materials and configurations. Taking the most common water pump accessory—the impeller—as an example, the price of a stainless steel impeller is several times that of a cast iron impeller. Therefore, we need to clarify the relevant information to give you an accurate price. Normally, if you provide relatively comprehensive information, we can quote within 5 minutes.
