Product Overview

The HD-type vertical guide-vane mixed-flow pump is a large- and medium-sized, single-stage, single-suction, vertical-axis guide-vane mixed-flow pump. It is suitable for irrigation and drainage in large- and medium-sized agricultural water conservancy projects, as well as for applications in industrial and mining facilities, shipyards, marine aquaculture, urban construction, power plant drainage, power plant water supply and drainage, and circulating water conveyance in power plants. This pump features a wide high-efficiency range and excellent cavitation performance, making it particularly well-suited for applications with significant water level fluctuations and relatively high head requirements. The pump typically handles clear water at ambient temperature, but can also be used for liquids whose physical and chemical properties are similar to those of water. The temperature of the liquid being pumped generally should not exceed 50℃. If the pump is to handle seawater, this should be specified when placing the order.

Structure of the HD Vertical Guide-Vane Mixed-Flow Pump

The HD-type vertical mixed-flow pumps all adopt a vertical-shaft design and are equipped with vertical electric motors. They consist of a pump section and a transmission section, which are connected as a single unit via a rigid coupling.

The HD guide-vane mixed-flow pump can be categorized into two types: fixed-type and semi-adjustable type. In the semi-adjustable mixed-flow pump, the blade angle is adjustable. In the fixed-type impeller, the blades are integrally cast with the impeller, and their angle cannot be adjusted.

The pump’s structural components generally include a white horn pipe, an impeller housing, an impeller (rotor assembly), a guide vane body, a straight pipe, an elbow pipe, a main shaft, and water-lubricated bearings. The rubber bearings only bear radial forces; the axial forces generated by the impeller are borne either by the bearings in the transmission section or by the motor itself.

The pump rotates counterclockwise when viewed from the suction port.

The transmission assembly typically consists of a motor base, an oil tank, a thrust head, radial bearings, a thrust bearing assembly, and a transmission shaft. The motor is connected to the transmission shaft via an elastic pin-type coupling. For large pumps, there is no separate transmission assembly; instead, the pump is directly coupled to the motor.

The pump’s support structure is such that the weight of the pump’s main body (excluding the drive section) is borne by the foundation supporting the pump casing. The drive section, transmission mechanism, motor, and any axial forces are all supported by the foundation on the transmission floor. The pump room can be constructed in two different structural forms: dry-type and wet-type.

The HD-type guide-vane mixed-flow pump adopts a vertical single-foundation structure, with the pump outlet located above the foundation.

The pump shafts are connected via a split-type clamp coupling, and the motor is rigidly coupled to the pump. Typically, the axial force of the water pump is borne by the motor. The axial clearance of the rotor is adjusted by means of adjusting nuts located between the motor coupling and the pump coupling.

It adopts a disc-type dry structure.
