This product is widely applicable to applications such as energy, metallurgy, chemical industry, textiles, papermaking, as well as boiler systems in hotels and restaurants for boosting and circulating high-temperature hot water, and also serves as a circulating pump in urban heating systems. The operating temperature is T < 120℃. The GRG high-temperature hot-water pump has an operating temperature of T < 240℃.

IRG Vertical Hot Water Pipeline Pump

The IRG vertical single-stage pipeline hot-water pump is jointly developed by our unit’s technical staff and domestic pump experts, who have selected an excellent domestic hydraulic model and adopted the performance parameters previously used in horizontal IS-type centrifugal pumps. It integrates all the advantages of conventional SG-type pipeline pumps. Furthermore, based on the ISG model, it has been adapted to produce specialized pumps suitable for hot water, high-temperature applications, corrosive chemical environments, and oil pumping, depending on differences in operating temperature and medium.

This centrifugal pump boasts advantages such as high efficiency and energy savings, lower noise levels compared to previous pipeline pumps, and reliable performance. It meets the standard requirements of the National Ministry of Machinery JB/T53058-93 and is designed and manufactured in accordance with the international ISO2858 standard. In 1993, it successfully passed the unified inspection for pipeline pump products conducted by the National Ministry of Machinery Industry. Designed based on our company’s many years of manufacturing experience, this second-generation, highly efficient, and energy-saving product features flow components made of stainless steel—selected according to customer requirements—to suit different media and temperature conditions, thereby ensuring widespread adoption of this product series.

   Product features:

  1. The IRG-type high-temperature hot-water pump features a vertical design with identical inlet and outlet diameters located on the same centerline, allowing it to be installed in pipelines just like a valve. It boasts a compact exterior, occupies a small footprint, and requires low initial construction investment. With the addition of a protective cover, it can even be used outdoors.

  2. The impeller is directly mounted on the motor’s extended shaft, which significantly reduces the motor’s load (since there’s no coupling involved). The axial dimension is short, and the structure is compact. The pump and motor bearings are arranged reasonably, effectively balancing both the radial and axial loads generated during pump operation, thereby ensuring smooth pump operation with very low vibration and noise levels.

  3. The shaft seal employs either a mechanical seal or a mechanical seal combination, featuring imported titanium alloy sealing rings, medium-sized high-temperature-resistant mechanical seals, and wear-resistant seals made of hard alloy materials, which can effectively extend the service life of the mechanical seal.

  4. Easy to install and maintain—no need to disassemble the piping system; simply remove the pump coupling base nut to extract the entire rotor assembly.

  5. Depending on the application requirements—specifically, the desired flow rate and head—the pumps can be operated in series or in parallel.

  6. The pump can be installed vertically or horizontally according to the requirements of the piping layout. (See the images below.)

  7. The impeller is the core component of a centrifugal pump. It operates at high speed and delivers substantial output force. The blades on the impeller play a crucial role. Before assembly, the impeller must undergo a static balance test. The inner and outer surfaces of the impeller must be smooth to minimize frictional losses in the water flow.

  8. The pump body, also known as the pump casing, is the main component of the water pump. It provides support and fixation and is connected to the bracket that houses the bearings.

  9. The function of the pump shaft is to transmit the torque from the motor to the impeller; therefore, it is the primary component for transmitting mechanical energy.

  10. Bearings are components that fit around the pump shaft to support it; they come in two types: rolling bearings and sliding bearings. Rolling bearings use grease as a lubricant, and the amount of grease added should be appropriate—typically filling 2/3 to 3/4 of the bearing’s volume. Adding too much grease can cause overheating, while adding too little may result in noise and further heating! Sliding bearings use clear oil as a lubricant; the oil level should be maintained at the specified mark. Too much oil can seep along the pump shaft and cause floating, whereas too little oil can lead to overheating and eventual damage or even accidents! During pump operation, the bearing temperature should not exceed 85°C—normally, it operates around 60°C. If the temperature rises above this threshold, you need to identify the cause (such as the presence of impurities, whether the oil has turned black, or whether water has entered the system) and address the issue promptly!

  11. The sealing ring, also known as the wear ring, is installed between the impeller inlet and the pump casing. If the clearance between these two components is too large, high-pressure water from the pump’s high-pressure zone will leak through this gap into the low-pressure zone, thereby reducing the pump’s flow rate and efficiency. On the other hand, if the clearance is too small, it may cause friction and wear between the impeller and the pump casing. To increase backflow resistance, minimize internal leakage, and extend the service life of both the impeller and the pump casing, a sealing ring is fitted at the junction between the inner edge of the pump casing and the outer periphery of the impeller. The ideal clearance for the seal should be maintained within the range of 0.25 to 1.10 mm.

  12. The stuffing box mainly consists of packing, a water seal ring, a packing sleeve, a packing gland, and a water seal pipe. The primary function of the stuffing box is to seal the gap between the pump casing and the pump shaft, preventing water from leaking out of the pump and air from entering the pump from the outside. This ensures that the pump maintains a constant vacuum at all times! When friction between the pump shaft and the packing generates heat, the water seal pipe directs water into the water seal ring to cool the packing, thereby keeping the pump running smoothly. Therefore, during routine inspections of the pump’s operation, special attention must be paid to checking the stuffing box. The packing should be replaced approximately every 600 operating hours.

Instructions for Use of Hot Water Pipeline Pump:

  I. Preparations Before Starting:

  1. Verify that the motor’s rotation direction is correct: when viewed from the top of the motor toward the pump, the rotation should be clockwise. The test duration should be brief to avoid dry friction and wear on the mechanical seal.

  2. Open the exhaust valve to allow the liquid to fill the entire pump body. Once full, close the exhaust valve.

  3. Before starting the ISG vertical centrifugal pump, check whether all components are functioning properly.

  4. Manually turn the pump to allow lubricant to enter the mechanical seal faces.

  5. For high-temperature applications, preheating is required first, with a heating rate of 50°C per hour, to ensure uniform heating throughout all components.

  II. Starting:

  1. Fully open the inlet valve.

  2. When starting a vertical centrifugal pump, close the discharge pipeline valve.

  3. Motor: Observe whether the pump is operating correctly.

  4. Check the shaft seal for leaks. Under normal conditions, mechanical seal leakage should be less than 3 drops per minute.

  5. Check that the temperature rise at the motor and bearing locations is ≤70℃.

  6. Adjust the opening of the outlet valve to match the required operating conditions. If the user has installed a flow meter or pressure gauge at the pump outlet, adjust the outlet valve opening so that the pump operates at the rated point specified in the performance parameter table. Similarly, if the user has installed a flow meter or pressure gauge at the pump outlet, adjust the outlet valve opening and monitor the motor current of the pump to ensure that the motor operates within its rated current range. Otherwise, the pump may be overloaded (i.e., running at excessive current), potentially causing the motor to burn out. The appropriate opening degree of the adjusted outlet valve depends on both the size of the valve and the pipeline operating conditions.

  3. Parking:

  1. Close the discharge pipeline valve.

  2. Stop the motor.

  3. When shutting down a vertical centrifugal pump, close the inlet valve.

  4. If the pump is to be parked for an extended period, the liquid inside the pump should be drained completely.

  5. For high-temperature types, first cool down, and control the cooling rate below .

Hot Water Pipeline Pump Operation and Maintenance:

  I. Maintenance during operation:

  1. The inlet pipeline must be completely filled with liquid; pumps are prohibited from operating for extended periods under cavitation conditions.

  2. The current of the motor for a vertical centrifugal pump should be checked regularly and must not exceed the motor’s rated current.

  3. After prolonged operation, if the unit’s noise and vibration increase due to mechanical wear, the unit should be stopped for inspection. If necessary, worn parts and bearings can be replaced. The general overhaul period for the unit is one year.

  4. During operation, a dedicated person should be assigned to manage and maintain the equipment to prevent accidents.

  5. The bearings should be lubricated every 500 operating hours. Motors with a power rating greater than 11 kW are equipped with a lubrication device that allows direct injection using a high-pressure grease gun, ensuring excellent bearing lubrication.

  II. Mechanical Seal Maintenance:

  1. When using the pump, the mechanical seal lubricant should be clean and free of solid particles.

  2. When using a vertical centrifugal pump, it is strictly prohibited for the mechanical seal to operate under dry-running conditions.

  3. Before starting the pump, first turn the pump (and motor) several revolutions by hand to prevent sudden start-up from causing damage or fracture to the graphite components.

  4. The permissible leakage rate for the seal is 3 drops per minute. Otherwise, an inspection should be conducted.

Q

What is your typical delivery time?

A

Models in stock can be shipped the next day at the latest. All others are custom-made, with lead times generally ranging from 7 to 90 days depending on the product size and project specifics. Please contact our sales manager for details: 0731-88632200 。

Q

Do you have centrifugal pumps in stock?

A

Centrifugal pumps come in numerous models and configurations. Except for a small number of high-volume, standard models that are in stock, the vast majority are not stocked and are customized products. We need to select a pump based on your site's flow rate, head, media temperature, pH value, and installation conditions, etc., to determine the pump model and configuration before we can submit an order to the factory for production.

Q

What information should I provide when requesting a quote?

A

Generally, to obtain an accurate quotation, we recommend providing us with the following information: pump flow rate, head, on-site operating voltage and frequency, temperature, pH value, and solid particle content of the fluid being conveyed, and on-site installation conditions (horizontal or vertical installation), etc.

If you are not sure, don't worry, our business managers will assist you in determining this.

Q

What products do you mainly produce?

A

Zhonglian Pump Industry manufactures various large industrial centrifugal pumps. Main products include: self-balancing multi-stage pumps, multi-stage centrifugal pumps, single-stage centrifugal pumps, split-case pumps, chemical pumps, submersible pumps, pipeline pumps, long-shaft pumps, condensate pumps, etc.

Q

Could you help me with the selection?

A

Certainly! If the water pump model is not selected accurately, there will be big problems. If you choose a smaller one, it won't meet your needs; if you choose a larger one, it will waste electricity and fuel, increasing your costs.

Q

Why is it so slow to get a price quote?

A

Because centrifugal pumps are non-standard customized products with many models, the price range is also very large. Even for the same model, the price difference is also very large due to different materials and configurations. Taking the most common water pump accessory—the impeller—as an example, the price of a stainless steel impeller is several times that of a cast iron impeller. Therefore, we need to clarify the relevant information to give you an accurate price. Normally, if you provide relatively comprehensive information, we can quote within 5 minutes.
