Product Overview

The XBD-LC vertical long-shaft fire pump features a motor that drives a rotor submerged in the liquid via a shaft. As the fluid passes through the rotor, it gains energy and then, guided by diffuser vanes, changes direction and flows vertically upward along the flow passage between the inner and outer pipes. Finally, it exits horizontally through an outlet bend.

The XBD-LC vertical long-shaft fire pump consists of two main components: the central rotating assembly and the pump body. The rotating assembly comprises a impeller, a shaft, a sleeve-type rigid coupling (including a coupling and a coupling sleeve), bearings, and an elastic pin-type coupling. The pump body includes a strainer, spatial guide vanes, an outer pipe, an inner pipe, a rubber bearing bracket, a base, a discharge bend, a bearing housing, and a motor mount.

The XBD-LC vertical long-shaft fire pump has its entire assembly connected to the discharge bendpipe and is secured by a baseplate. Above the rotating assembly, the upper double rolling bearings and the intermediate guide bearing assembly are also connected to the discharge bendpipe and fixed via the baseplate. The upper double rolling bearings, the intermediate guide bearing assembly, and the lower guide bearing assembly within the space guide vanes provide support for the rotating assembly.

Meanwhile, clean lubricating water is continuously injected through the lubrication water inlet pipe on the side of the stuffing box (when the medium is clear water, the inner pipe can be omitted), flowing along the channel between the inner pipe and the shaft to lubricate and cool the guide bearing (PFC). This is the key factor that enables the XBD-LC vertical fire-fighting long-shaft pump to operate normally even under harsh conditions, such as when conveying media containing solid particles.

· Structural features of vertical long-shaft fire pumps

The XBD-LC vertical fire-fighting long-shaft pump features a suction port that points vertically downward and an outlet that is horizontal. It can be started without requiring vacuum priming, and it is installed on a single foundation. The pump and motor are directly coupled, resulting in a small footprint. When viewed from the motor end, the pump rotor rotates counterclockwise. Its main structural features include:

1. We have introduced advanced hydraulic modeling and mechanical design, employing multiple innovative processes such as Ashland’s Zhixin technology and epoxy coating on the blade flow passages, enabling the product to withstand high temperatures up to 120 degrees Celsius. It features a Bogermann mechanical seal that is durable, acid- and alkali-resistant, highly efficient, and boasts an extended service life.

2. A sand-throwing ring device is employed, and its labyrinth structure prevents sand particles from entering the bearing.

3. The impeller features a seamless, one-piece cast stainless steel flow passage with an anti-entanglement design that ensures zero blockage. The pump shaft, made of precision-turned and precision-ground stainless steel, has a radial runout controlled within the international standard of 0.13 mm, ensuring smooth pump operation and low noise levels.

4. We select QT450 ductile iron and various grades of stainless steel with corrosion-resistant properties, such as HT250, to meet users’ diverse special operating conditions and technical requirements.

5. The product boasts high efficiency; the pump head is completely submerged in the liquid, eliminating any self-priming time. When the pump starts, water supply is simultaneously pressurized.

6. The pump impeller is submerged in water, eliminating the need for a foot valve, priming, or vacuum on the shaft—allowing it to start up directly and effortlessly, making it highly convenient and reliable.

7. It can be directly installed above the pool, requiring only two support beams and channel steel beams for secure fixation—no suction piping is needed.

8. The pump can reach a maximum submergence and suction lift of around 10 meters. It features a vertical design, occupies a small footprint, and requires low capital investment for infrastructure.

9. The submersible length can be customized according to the depth of the pool, ensuring that the lowest water level can be effectively pumped.
