Product Overview
The variable-frequency constant-pressure secondary water supply equipment mainly consists of a variable-frequency control cabinet and other components, capable of consistently maintaining the pressure indicated by the pressure gauge—i.e., the water pressure in the user’s pipeline—at the user-set value. It can be used for both general domestic and industrial water supply applications. The secondary water supply equipment, commonly referred to as "secondary water supply," refers to the practice where a unit or individual stores and pressurizes water supplied by municipal public utilities or self-built facilities, then delivers it to users or for self-use via pipelines. However, until recently, there has been no comprehensive national technical standard specifically addressing secondary water supply projects; only partial requirements have been outlined in relevant sections of the "Code for Design of Building Water Supply and Drainage." Secondary water supply facilities are primarily established to compensate for insufficient pressure in municipal water supply pipelines and to ensure adequate water supply for residents and inhabitants in high-rise buildings. Compared to primary water supply, secondary water supply is more prone to contamination, and thus its safety and reliability have long been a major concern among citizens. Henceforth, for any construction project that requires the installation of secondary water supply facilities, such facilities must be set up independently, and their design, construction, and commissioning must be carried out concurrently with the main project.
Product Parameters
Composition and Equipment Classification of Variable-Frequency Constant-Pressure Secondary Water Supply Systems:
1. The variable-frequency water supply equipment is connected to the municipal pipeline network for constant-pressure water supply. When the water supply pressure meets the demand, all pumps will automatically shut down. Otherwise, the constant-pressure water supply equipment will start up and increase the pressure to meet the water usage requirements.
2. Operation with a small air pressure tank added to the variable-frequency water supply system without negative pressure.
3. Customized variable-frequency constant-pressure water supply equipment. We also provide pump repair and pump maintenance services.
Equipment Category:
Currently, the popular water supply equipment on the market can be categorized into the following types: variable-frequency non-negative-pressure water supply equipment, deep-well variable-frequency water supply equipment, variable-frequency constant-pressure water supply equipment, and variable-frequency pump units.
Variable-frequency, non-negative-pressure water supply equipment
The variable-frequency, non-negative-pressure water supply equipment consists of four main components: a pressure stabilization tank, a water pump, a negative-pressure tank, and an electrical control cabinet. Its outstanding advantages include the elimination of the need to build a water tower, low investment, minimal land occupation, flexible layout, and rapid commissioning and operation. It features automatic water-gas regulation, self-operating functionality, energy efficiency, and seamless integration with the municipal water supply. Even after a power outage, it can continue to provide water, and once properly adjusted, it requires no ongoing supervision. This equipment is widely used for supplying water for production, daily life, and office use in enterprises, residential communities, and rural areas. It is suitable for sites with up to 5,000 water users and a daily water supply capacity of no more than 3,000 m³, capable of delivering water to heights exceeding 100 meters.
Variable-frequency constant-pressure water supply equipment
Variable-frequency constant-pressure water supply equipment is a new type of energy-saving water supply system. This equipment integrates advanced microcomputer control technology with variable-frequency speed controllers and motor-driven pumps, forming a highly sophisticated, electromechanical, and energy-efficient water supply device. The variable-frequency constant-pressure water supply equipment uses the water pressure at the pump’s outlet (or the user’s water flow rate) as its setpoint parameter. A microcomputer automatically controls the output frequency of the variable-frequency drive, thereby adjusting the rotational speed of the pump motor and achieving closed-loop regulation of the water pressure in the user’s pipeline network. As a result, the water supply system maintains a stable pressure level precisely at the set value: when water demand increases, the frequency rises, and the pump’s rotational speed accelerates; when water demand decreases, the frequency falls, and the pump’s rotational speed slows down. In this way, the entire user pipeline network is ensured to have sufficient water pressure (consistent with the user’s set pressure) and adequate water volume (which varies according to the user’s actual water consumption).
Product features:
1. Equipped with functions such as overpressure, undervoltage, overload, short circuit, phase failure, and low liquid level detection.
2. High adjustment accuracy—typically reaching 0.01 MPa—and the system pressure is consistently maintained at the set value.
3. The constant-pressure water supply equipment is simple and convenient to operate, featuring automatic fault storage and fault display. The pressure can be set directly from the keyboard.
4. Constant-pressure water supply equipment boasts the advantages of high efficiency and energy savings. When used in conjunction with an air pressure tank, its performance is further enhanced, achieving energy savings of 20% to 50%.
5. Dual-pump timed switching function. Primary and standby control.
6. The constant-pressure water supply equipment features a compact structure, small footprint, and convenient maintenance.
Variable-frequency pump unit
The JHB series variable-frequency pump units developed by Changsha Zhonglian Pump Industry utilize imported frequency converters and compact control cabinets, making installation extremely convenient—simply install the control cabinet wherever it’s most suitable. This control cabinet has no specific requirements regarding the structure or type of the water pump it’s paired with; all that’s needed is for the frequency converter to be matched with the motor. Once installation and commissioning are complete, the equipment can operate unattended. These variable-frequency pump units are particularly well-suited for projects with relatively few households, such as residential complexes, as well as hotels and other similar facilities.
Working Principle and Functional Features of Variable-Frequency Constant-Pressure Secondary Water Supply Equipment:
The variable-frequency water supply equipment, based on user requirements, first sets the desired water supply pressure. Once powered on and running, a pressure sensor continuously monitors the pipeline pressure and converts it into an electrical signal, which is then sent to a programmable controller or microcomputer controller. After analysis and processing, this signal is transmitted to a frequency converter, which controls the operation of the water pump. When water demand increases, the output voltage and frequency of the pump rise, causing the pump speed to increase and the water flow rate to rise accordingly. Conversely, when water demand decreases, the pump speed slows down, reducing the water flow rate and maintaining the pipeline pressure at the set value. In systems with multiple pumps operating simultaneously, each pump starts up smoothly in sequence, transitioning from variable-frequency operation to mains-frequency operation until the required pressure and flow are achieved, thus realizing cyclical control of the pumps. During periods of low nighttime flow, the variable-frequency pump can maintain continuous operation. Additionally, the variable-frequency water pump can be shut down while still maintaining system pressure.
1. No negative pressure
The system’s direct connection to the municipal water supply network for pressurized water intake will not cause negative pressure in the municipal tap water network.
2. Apply pressure
The permitted suction pressure for the municipal tap water network can be set by adjusting the relief pressure control valve.
3. Pressure boosting (or pressure stacking)
When the suction pressure and flow rate exceed the permitted values, the system can boost the pressure based on the existing water supply network pressure. Compared to drawing water from a conventional storage tank, this approach can reduce the number of pumps used during operation and/or lower their rotational speed, thereby achieving energy savings.
4. Variable-frequency constant pressure
The equipment continuously monitors the outlet pressure via sensors in real time, compares the measured value with the setpoint, and determines the number of motors and pumps to be activated as well as the output frequency of the variable-frequency drive (which, when translated into motor and pump speed, ensures that the system closely follows the water demand curve and maintains constant pressure).
5. Noiseless
Adopting modern design principles and fully taking into account contemporary environmental requirements, we’ve selected a dedicated, silent-frequency converter and incorporated noise-reduction design techniques, enabling the system to operate with ultra-quiet performance.
6. Power outage with uninterrupted water supply
When the power supply line is out of power, the system uses methods such as BY PASS to ensure uninterrupted water supply—meaning that when a power outage occurs, the system automatically switches over to municipal tap water pressure for water supply.
7. Highly automated
The system features fully automatic control, with functions including manual/automatic switching, timed rotation between primary and secondary pumps, pressure adjustment, constant-pressure operation, high- and low-voltage protection, phase-loss protection, leakage protection, overload protection, overheating protection, water-level deficiency protection, leak-detection compensation, automatic shutdown when no water is detected, and instantaneous trip protection. Additionally, the system can be configured with a human-machine interface according to user requirements, enabling visual remote adjustment, monitoring, and maintenance.

Q
What is your typical delivery time?
A
Models in stock can be shipped the next day at the latest. All others are custom-made, with lead times generally ranging from 7 to 90 days depending on the product size and project specifics. Please contact our sales manager for details: 0731-88632200 。
Q
Do you have centrifugal pumps in stock?
A
Centrifugal pumps come in numerous models and configurations. Except for a small number of high-volume, standard models that are in stock, the vast majority are not stocked and are customized products. We need to select a pump based on your site's flow rate, head, media temperature, pH value, and installation conditions, etc., to determine the pump model and configuration before we can submit an order to the factory for production.
Q
What information should I provide when requesting a quote?
A
Generally, to obtain an accurate quotation, we recommend providing us with the following information: pump flow rate, head, on-site operating voltage and frequency, temperature, pH value, and solid particle content of the fluid being conveyed, and on-site installation conditions (horizontal or vertical installation), etc.
If you are not sure, don't worry, our business managers will assist you in determining this.
Q
What products do you mainly produce?
A
Zhonglian Pump Industry manufactures various large industrial centrifugal pumps. Main products include: self-balancing multi-stage pumps, multi-stage centrifugal pumps, single-stage centrifugal pumps, split-case pumps, chemical pumps, submersible pumps, pipeline pumps, long-shaft pumps, condensate pumps, etc.
Q
Why is it so slow to get a price quote?
A
Because centrifugal pumps are non-standard customized products with many models, the price range is also very large. Even for the same model, the price difference is also very large due to different materials and configurations. Taking the most common water pump accessory—the impeller—as an example, the price of a stainless steel impeller is several times that of a cast iron impeller. Therefore, we need to clarify the relevant information to give you an accurate price. Normally, if you provide relatively comprehensive information, we can quote within 5 minutes.
