When disassembling the rotor of a mid-open pump, the magnitude of the top pressure, the heating temperature, and the duration of heating are all critical factors that determine whether the rotor can be removed smoothly.

Determination of the top pressure on the rotor of the mid-open pump:
Using assembly theory for calculation, the disassembly force is:
P = πDL · q · f
In the formula: D—diameter of the mating surface, m;
L—Length of the mating and accommodating surface, m;
q—Positive pressure caused by geometric and positional errors, Pa;
f—coefficient of friction.
The calculation yields: Disassembly force P = 181335 × 10⁻⁶ qf.
As can be seen from the above equation, even slight variations in the normal pressure q and the coefficient of friction f caused by geometric and positional errors can lead to significant differences in the disassembly force. Practical experience has shown that for rotor assemblies of circulating water pumps operating continuously in media, the frictional force during the removal of the mid-split impeller is quite substantial. Typically, the coefficient of friction f ranges from 2 to 8, and the normal pressure q ranges from 9.8 × 10⁴ to 1.47 × 10⁵. Under these conditions, the maximum disassembly force Pmax amounts to 213,249.96 N.
