Horizontal Single-Stage Fire Pump
Product Overview
The DP-type self-balancing multistage centrifugal pump features a rotor assembly with symmetric impellers at each stage, eliminating the need for the conventional balance disc mechanism found in traditional multistage centrifugal pumps. During operation, the axial forces generated are mutually balanced and essentially self-balanced, ensuring that the alignment between the impellers and diffusers remains consistently stable. This design significantly enhances the overall operational efficiency of the pump. The DP-type pump represents an innovative multistage centrifugal pump design and serves as an excellent alternative to pumps equipped with balance discs or balance drums. Moreover, self-balancing technology is poised to become the future trend in the field of multistage centrifugal pumps.

The self-balancing multistage pump is a high-pressure multistage centrifugal pump developed by Changsha Zhonglian Pump Industry, a leading manufacturer of multistage centrifugal pumps. To meet user needs and accelerate the advancement of high-pressure multistage pump technology, this pump incorporates cutting-edge technologies from similar foreign products, combined with the company’s many years of design experience. It utilizes hydraulic models of highly efficient and energy-saving products recommended by national standards and has been researched and developed in accordance with API610 standards, placing it at the forefront of technological advancement in the industry. This pump boasts advantages such as a wide efficient operating range, an extensive performance spectrum, excellent cavitation resistance, safe and stable operation, low noise levels, fewer wear parts, and convenient installation and maintenance. Its reliability has been significantly enhanced—its trouble-free operating time is more than three times that of conventional pumps—resulting in substantially reduced maintenance costs for users and thereby lowering the overall life-cycle cost of the pump.
The high-pressure self-balancing segmental centrifugal pump represents an innovative departure from the conventional multistage centrifugal pump design. It eliminates the axial force balancing mechanism typically found in multistage pumps, making it an excellent alternative to D- and DG-type multistage pumps that rely on balance discs or balance drums. Since this pump is devoid of any balancing device—therefore eliminating both disc friction losses associated with balance discs and return flow losses from balancing systems—it achieves a 5-14% higher efficiency compared to similar multistage pumps. Moreover, it completely resolves various failures—such as wear on the balance disc and its seat or rotor seizure—that often result from the failure of traditional balancing devices, thereby significantly extending the pump’s service life. Years of operational experience have demonstrated that this product’s performance has reached the advanced level of comparable international products.
Main applications of DP-type self-balancing multistage centrifugal pumps

Cost Analysis of DP-Type Self-Balancing Multistage Centrifugal Pumps vs. Traditional Multistage Centrifugal Pumps
As shown in the comparison above, the main advantages of the self-balancing multistage system over the traditional multistage system are:
1. Highly efficient and energy-saving, with significant power-saving effects.
Due to the reduced shaft power, the pump's power consumption per unit time decreases, resulting in a significant reduction in operating costs.
2. Advanced structure with a long maintenance-free period.
Due to the absence of balancing devices, the hydraulic system has fewer vulnerable parts, boasts long trouble-free operating hours, and significantly reduces maintenance and repair costs.
Introduction to the Structure of DP-Type Self-Balancing Multistage Centrifugal Pumps
The self-balancing multistage pump is a horizontal sectional multistage centrifugal pump with either single-suction or double-suction inlet. The pump’s suction port can be arranged vertically upward or horizontally, while the discharge port is positioned vertically upward. The main components include: the suction section, the middle section, the discharge section, the secondary suction section, forward guide vanes, reverse guide vanes, forward impellers, reverse impellers, shaft, throttling and pressure-reducing devices, sleeve bushings, bearing housings, transition pipes, and other parts. The middle section is connected to the suction and discharge sections via high-strength through-bolts. The sealing surfaces between the suction section, middle section, and discharge section all employ hard metal seals lubricated with molybdenum disulfide grease. The rotor consists of forward impellers mounted on the shaft, throttling and pressure-reducing devices, reverse impellers, shaft sleeves, bearing bushings, and other components. The bearings adopt a “fixed-floating” dry-lubrication design: the drive end uses cylindrical roller bearings, while the tail end employs angular contact ball bearings. The pump’s working chamber comprises the suction section, middle section, discharge section, secondary suction section, forward guide vanes, reverse guide vanes, and transition pipes.
The rotor assembly is sealed against the stationary part by means of sealing rings, guide vane sleeves, and other components. When the wear on the sealing rings and guide vane sleeves has begun to affect the pump’s operational performance, they should be replaced promptly. The shaft sealing can be either mechanical or packing-type. When the pump uses packing seals, the packing rings must be properly positioned, and the tightness of the packing material must be just right—ideally allowing liquid to seep out drop by drop. All sealing elements of the pump are housed within a sealing chamber, which is supplied with water at a certain pressure to provide water sealing, water cooling, and water lubrication. A replaceable shaft sleeve is installed at the shaft seal area to protect the pump shaft.
The pump’s bearings and seals can be replaced without dismantling the inlet and outlet pipelines.
This series of pumps is directly driven by the prime mover via an elastic pin coupling or a diaphragm coupling. When viewed from the direction of the prime mover, the pump rotates clockwise.

Working Principle of DP-Type Self-Balancing Multistage Centrifugal Pump
Driven by the motor, the pump shaft rotates and does work on the liquid, increasing its energy. As a result, the required amount of liquid is continuously conveyed from the suction sump, through the pump’s inlet section, forward impeller, forward guide vanes, middle section, horizontal outlet at the discharge section, transition pipe, secondary inlet section, reverse impeller, reverse guide vanes, and finally out through the vertical outlet at the discharge section.

Q
What is your typical delivery time?
A
Models in stock can be shipped the next day at the latest. All others are custom-made, with lead times generally ranging from 7 to 90 days depending on the product size and project specifics. Please contact our sales manager for details: 0731-88632200 。
Q
Do you have centrifugal pumps in stock?
A
Centrifugal pumps come in numerous models and configurations. Except for a small number of high-volume, standard models that are in stock, the vast majority are not stocked and are customized products. We need to select a pump based on your site's flow rate, head, media temperature, pH value, and installation conditions, etc., to determine the pump model and configuration before we can submit an order to the factory for production.
Q
What information should I provide when requesting a quote?
A
Generally, to obtain an accurate quotation, we recommend providing us with the following information: pump flow rate, head, on-site operating voltage and frequency, temperature, pH value, and solid particle content of the fluid being conveyed, and on-site installation conditions (horizontal or vertical installation), etc.
If you are not sure, don't worry, our business managers will assist you in determining this.
Q
What products do you mainly produce?
A
Zhonglian Pump Industry manufactures various large industrial centrifugal pumps. Main products include: self-balancing multi-stage pumps, multi-stage centrifugal pumps, single-stage centrifugal pumps, split-case pumps, chemical pumps, submersible pumps, pipeline pumps, long-shaft pumps, condensate pumps, etc.
Q
Why is it so slow to get a price quote?
A
Because centrifugal pumps are non-standard customized products with many models, the price range is also very large. Even for the same model, the price difference is also very large due to different materials and configurations. Taking the most common water pump accessory—the impeller—as an example, the price of a stainless steel impeller is several times that of a cast iron impeller. Therefore, we need to clarify the relevant information to give you an accurate price. Normally, if you provide relatively comprehensive information, we can quote within 5 minutes.
