The PNL series of vertical slurry pumps are single-stage, single-suction slurry pumps (available in both vertical and horizontal designs). Features of the PNL vertical submersible slurry pump:
1. PNL submersible Mud pump The wear-resistant components in the flow passage are made of wear- and corrosion-resistant cast iron, ensuring a long service life.
2. The clearance between the impeller and the guard plate can be adjusted promptly to maintain high operational efficiency.
3. The bearings of the above-mentioned pump type are directly mounted inside a horizontally split support frame, making disassembly and inspection convenient and allowing for timely adjustments. Additionally, a water-cooled serpentine tube is installed within the oil sump, thereby improving the operating conditions of the bearings.
4. The pump body above the pump is relatively large and features a split structure, making disassembly, assembly, and maintenance convenient.

Mud pump installation:
1. Preparations before installation
(1) Inspect the pump and motor to ensure there is no damage incurred during transportation and loading/unloading.
(2) Prepare the tools and lifting equipment, and inspect the machine foundation according to the drawings.
2. Installation Sequence
(1) The entire pump set has already been assembled on-site with the motor installed. When leveling the base, there is no need to remove the pump and the motor.
(2) Place the base on the foundation and prepare it for leveling before filling with concrete.
(3) Use a level to check the horizontal alignment of the base by referencing the pump’s discharge port plane. After leveling, install the anchor bolts and then pour concrete around the anchor bolts.
(4) Place the steel ruler on the coupling (measuring in the up, down, front, and back directions) to check whether the shaft lines of the pump and the motor are aligned.
(5) After the concrete around the anchor bolts has completely hardened, tighten the nuts on the anchor bolts. Finally, check the levelness of the entire unit again. If there is even a slight unevenness, use wedge-shaped shims to adjust the level.
(6) Install the suction and discharge pipelines. When connecting the pipelines to the pump, be careful not to allow the weight and pressure of the pipelines to be transferred onto the pump, as this could cause deformation of the pump.
(7) Clean the environment and maintain hygiene.
Mud pump maintenance and upkeep:
(1) Check whether there are any loose connections at the pump and pipeline joints. Manually rotate the pump to see if it operates smoothly, then verify the motor’s rotation direction.
(2) Connect the flushing cooling water at the pipe joint in the mechanical seal chamber.
(3) Fill the pump with priming water.
(4) Close the gate valve on the outlet pipe and the outlet pressure gauge.
(5) Start the motor. Once the pump is running normally, open the outlet pressure gauge and gradually open the gate valve until the gauge indicates an appropriate pressure. At the same time, monitor the motor’s load condition.
(6) As much as possible, keep the pump’s flow rate and head within the ranges indicated on the pump’s nameplate, ensuring that the pump operates continuously near its high-efficiency point to achieve the greatest energy-saving effect.
(7) During operation, the bearing temperature rise of the pump shall not exceed 35℃ above the ambient temperature, and the maximum temperature shall not exceed 80℃.
(8) During operation, if any unusual noises are detected, the pump should be stopped immediately to investigate the cause.
(9) When the pump is to be shut down, first close the gate valve and the pressure gauge, then stop the motor.
(10) Pay attention to the lubrication condition of the bearings and regularly inject grease into the bearing housing.
(11) When using the pump during cold winter months, after stopping the pump, be sure to unscrew the drain plug at the bottom of the pump body to completely drain the water, thus preventing freezing and cracking.
(12) For long-term use, the pump must be completely disassembled, thoroughly dried to remove all moisture, and then reassembled after applying grease to moving parts and joints. It should then be stored properly.
