The solid-liquid mixture concentration ranges from 45% for fly ash slurry to 60% for mineral slurry, with a medium temperature not exceeding 60°C. This pump model can also be used in multi-stage series configurations.

Structural Forms and Features of ZJ and ZJL Horizontal Slurry Pumps for Mining Applications

The ZJ mine slurry pump is a horizontal, vertically centerline, double-casing slurry pump. The pump body and pump cover are equipped with replaceable metal liners made of high-chromium wear-resistant alloy material. These liners can be used until they are completely worn through, thereby extending the maintenance cycle and reducing operating costs. The pump’s discharge direction can be installed at any of eight different angles.

Bearing Assembly: The pump’s bearing assembly features a cylindrical design, which facilitates adjustment of the clearance between the impeller and the front guard plate and allows for complete removal during maintenance. The bearings are lubricated with grease.

Shaft seals (sealing devices): The pump’s shaft seal types include packing seals, impeller-backward-vane seals, and mechanical seals. It is also possible to adopt a combined sealing system featuring an auxiliary impeller paired with a packing seal, as well as a mechanical seal.

(1) Auxiliary Impeller Dynamic Seal: The auxiliary impeller seal utilizes the pressure generated by the main impeller and a series-connected auxiliary impeller to achieve sealing. Packing or lip seals serve as standby seals for shutdown conditions. This sealing configuration can be adopted in single-stage pumps or in the first stage of multistage pumps, provided that the positive pressure at the pump inlet does not exceed 10% of the pump outlet pressure. It features the ability to operate without shaft seal water, avoids dilution of the slurry, and offers excellent sealing performance. However, it will increase power consumption—typically by about 5% of the shaft power requirement. Packing seals are a common type of shaft seal, suitable for a wide range of operating conditions. They can be paired with special materials such as PTFE packing or graphite packing, making them appropriate for corrosive or high-temperature environments. This type of seal boasts advantages such as simple structure and easy maintenance.

(2) Mechanical Seals: Utilizing internationally advanced sealing technology, these seals deliver excellent sealing performance. The modular design simplifies installation and replacement, while various structural configurations can be tailored to suit different operating conditions. The friction pair components are made from high-hardness ceramics and alloy materials. The mechanical seal and seal housing designs, along with their precise fit, are optimized to match the flow characteristics of the medium, resulting in superior wear resistance and vibration resistance. As a result, these seals consistently meet customer satisfaction even under the most challenging operating conditions.

Transmission methods include V-belt drive, elastic coupling drive, gear-reduction gearbox drive, hydraulic torque converter drive, variable-frequency drive systems, and thyristor-based speed control. Among these, the V-belt drive options are CL, CV, CR, ZL, ZV, and ZR drives.

The ZJ and ZJL series slurry pumps are primarily used in industrial sectors such as power generation, metallurgy, coal mining, building materials, and chemical engineering. They are designed specifically for conveying abrasive slurries containing solid particles—for example, in ore-dressing plants handling concentrate and tailings, power plants removing ash and slag, coal preparation plants transporting coal slime and heavy-medium coal separation, and coastal and river mining operations that require the transport of mineral slurries. The maximum weight concentration of slurries these pumps can handle is: 45% for ash slurry and 60% for mineral slurry. Depending on user requirements, these pumps can be operated in series.
