Product Overview

The ZLB vertical axial-flow pump is a single-stage, vertical axial-flow pump. Its structure is divided into two main parts: the pump body and the transmission section. The pump body components include the bellmouth, impeller assembly, guide vanes, bend pipe, bearings, stuffing box, and coupling, among others. The transmission section features a transmission shaft that is connected at one end to the motor via a coupling and at the other end to the pump. The axial force of the pump is borne by bearings housed within the motor base (or bearing housing). The shaft seal employs a packing seal. In the transmission system, when viewed from the direction of the suction inlet, the impeller rotates counterclockwise. The ZWB and ZXB models are extra-large horizontal and inclined axial-flow pumps, suitable for pumping clean water, sewage, rainwater, and mildly corrosive liquids. The temperature of the liquid being conveyed shall not exceed 50℃. These pumps are characterized by high flow rates and low head, making them ideal for agricultural drainage and irrigation, hydraulic engineering projects, urban water supply, drainage and wastewater treatment, power plants, salt works, and aquaculture farms for circulating water transfer, as well as for shipyard operations involving water level adjustments. They are also widely used in industries such as metallurgy and chemical processing.

Structural Type of ZLB Vertical Axial-Flow Pump

ZLB Series Axial Flow Pumps The vertical structure mainly consists of a pump body section and a transmission section. For vertical axial-flow pumps, the pump and the motor are mounted on two separate foundation levels; the axial thrust of the pump is borne by the motor. The pump’s bearings are rubber-guided bearings, and the sealing is achieved through packing seals. For horizontal (inclined) axial-flow pumps, the entire pump system comprises several components, including the hydraulic flow passage, the pump body itself, the transmission mechanism, the motor, and auxiliary equipment. The transmission section features a gear reduction gearbox.

The pump body assembly mainly consists of an inlet bell, an impeller assembly, a guide vane assembly, a rubber bearing, a pump shaft, a discharge bend, and packing seals.

The impeller assembly consists of an impeller hub, blades, and a tightening nut, and has undergone static balancing verification prior to shipment. When the user needs to adjust the blade installation angle, the impeller assembly can be removed, the tightening nut loosened, and the blades rotated (if there are locking screws, they must be removed first) so that the reference line on the blades aligns with the corresponding angle marking on the impeller hub. Then, tighten the nut securely. Unless otherwise specified at the time of order, the blade installation angle is 0° upon delivery; users may adjust it themselves according to the operating performance curve and the performance parameter table provided.

The pump shaft is made of high-quality carbon structural steel (45 steel). The journal surface is coated with hard chrome to enhance its wear resistance and corrosion resistance. The radial support of the pump shaft is provided by two rubber bearings—one located above and one below. Before starting the pump, clean water must be supplied into the feed pipe at the stuffing box to lubricate the upper rubber bearing; the supply can be stopped only after the pump has started delivering water.

A packing seal is used at the shaft hole of the outlet bend pipe, consisting of a stuffing box, packing (oil-immersed asbestos packing), and a packing gland.

When viewed from the coupling end, the impeller rotates clockwise.

Main component materials: The pump shaft is made of high-quality carbon steel; the impeller is made of cast steel or stainless steel; the remaining parts are made of cast iron or welded steel plates.

Pump complete set scope: The pump, motor, and base or mounting pad are supplied as a complete set.

Transmission Section: Based on usage requirements and power supply conditions, users should specify the transmission method when placing an order. There are two transmission methods available:

(1) Vertical Motor Direct Drive System

The vertical motor is mounted on a motor base. The upper end of the transmission shaft is connected to the motor shaft via an elastic coupling, while the lower end is connected to the pump shaft via a rigid coupling. During pump operation, all axial forces are borne by the thrust bearing within the transmission unit. The axial displacement of the pump rotor can be adjusted by means of a nut located inside the transmission unit.

(2) Vertical Motor V-Belt Drive System

The vertical motor is mounted on a frame and connected to the drive pulley via a flat key. By adjusting the set screw, the frame can slide along the guide rail to regulate belt tension. The pulley is secured to the drive shaft using a connector. When the pump is running, the axial force is borne by the thrust bearing mounted on the pulley housing; the belt tension is transmitted to the pulley housing via the radial bearing, ensuring that the drive shaft remains free from any radial forces. The axial displacement of the pump rotor can be adjusted by means of the nut located at the top of the transmission assembly. The drive shaft of the axial-flow pump should not be excessively long; users must design the pump station within the “L” dimension range specified in the installation layout drawing.

The pump discharge accessories include 30° elbows, straight pipes, expansion joints, diffuser tubes, and more. The end of the assembly is equipped with a discharge valve. Users can select the appropriate components based on their specific requirements and should specify their selections when placing an order.

Pump support: The weight of the pump body (excluding the rotor assembly) is borne by the foundation or beam supporting the pump body. The weight of the transmission unit, the motor, and the axial forces (including the weight of the rotor assembly) are borne by the floor slab supporting the transmission unit.

Q

What is your typical delivery time?

A

Models in stock can be shipped the next day at the latest. All others are custom-made, with lead times generally ranging from 7 to 90 days depending on the product size and project specifics. Please contact our sales manager for details: 0731-88632200 。

Q

Do you have centrifugal pumps in stock?

A

Centrifugal pumps come in numerous models and configurations. Except for a small number of high-volume, standard models that are in stock, the vast majority are not stocked and are customized products. We need to select a pump based on your site's flow rate, head, media temperature, pH value, and installation conditions, etc., to determine the pump model and configuration before we can submit an order to the factory for production.

Q

What information should I provide when requesting a quote?

A

Generally, to obtain an accurate quotation, we recommend providing us with the following information: pump flow rate, head, on-site operating voltage and frequency, temperature, pH value, and solid particle content of the fluid being conveyed, and on-site installation conditions (horizontal or vertical installation), etc.

If you are not sure, don't worry, our business managers will assist you in determining this.

Q

What products do you mainly produce?

A

Zhonglian Pump Industry manufactures various large industrial centrifugal pumps. Main products include: self-balancing multi-stage pumps, multi-stage centrifugal pumps, single-stage centrifugal pumps, split-case pumps, chemical pumps, submersible pumps, pipeline pumps, long-shaft pumps, condensate pumps, etc.

Q

Could you help me with the selection?

A

Certainly! If the water pump model is not selected accurately, there will be big problems. If you choose a smaller one, it won't meet your needs; if you choose a larger one, it will waste electricity and fuel, increasing your costs.

Q

Why is it so slow to get a price quote?

A

Because centrifugal pumps are non-standard customized products with many models, the price range is also very large. Even for the same model, the price difference is also very large due to different materials and configurations. Taking the most common water pump accessory—the impeller—as an example, the price of a stainless steel impeller is several times that of a cast iron impeller. Therefore, we need to clarify the relevant information to give you an accurate price. Normally, if you provide relatively comprehensive information, we can quote within 5 minutes.
