Overview of Sailong Guide Bearings:
This series of guide bearings is suitable for vertical mixed-flow pumps of the TKX(S), LKX(S), and LBX(S) types, as well as single-unit vertical mixed-flow pumps of the ZLB and ZLG series, and extra-large horizontal mixed-flow pumps of the ZWB and ZXB series. The water guide bearing is a critical component of large-scale water pumps, serving to bear the radial forces exerted on the rotating parts of the pump and to stabilize the rotation of the impeller. If the water guide bearing wears excessively or becomes damaged, it can lead to increased axial runout of the unit shaft, intensified vibration, and even blade-to-casing contact accidents. According to surveys, the vast majority of pump operation failures are caused by water guide bearing malfunctions. Therefore, the water guide bearing is a key factor influencing the reliability, operational life, and planned overhaul intervals of water pumps.
Saierlong bearings outperform conventional bearing materials—including copper, Babbitt alloy, nylon, Teflon, bakelite, ironwood, carbon graphite, amino polymers, and laminated boards—in terms of performance. These materials exhibit stable chemical properties, thus eliminating any risk of aging. Moreover, Saierlong bearings have been approved by major global classification societies such as China CCS, LR, NK, KNV, ABS, and BV.
Characteristics of Sailong Bearings:
1. Low friction
The dry friction coefficient of Sailong bearings is half that of conventional water-lubricated bearings. Sailong’s low friction not only enhances wear resistance but also reduces the starting torque, effectively eliminating the primary cause of galling and wear.
2. Extra-long service life and excellent wear resistance
Thanks to the elastic properties of the Sialon bearing, when friction particles enter the bearing interior, they are compressed into the Sialon material. Then, driven by the bearing’s elasticity as it rolls along the shaft, these particles fall into a drainage groove and are expelled outward—never becoming lodged in the bearing itself and creating another source of friction. As a result, wear on both the bearing and the shaft is minimized.
3. Dry start
Sailong guide bearings can run dry for a certain period of time—approximately 1 to 2 minutes—without requiring prior water lubrication. Even if the water pump’s water supply is interrupted during operation, the bearings will not be damaged. When sealed, forced-lubrication bearings are converted to a Sailong system that uses water lubrication, this significantly reduces the risk of bearing damage caused by lubrication system failures.

Sealant bearings do not swell from oil; they are the optimal choice for environments where oil and water mix. In contrast, the lubricating oils used in metal bearings cannot be washed away by water.
